Privacy Policy

Effective 16 June 2026

Ariiyo ("we", "us") operates the canonical registry for businesses and people in the directory ecosystem. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use our website, owner portal, and related services.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the registry, and limited technical data needed to operate the platform securely.

  • Business and person profile data — names, addresses, contact details, hours, services, taxonomy classifications, and other listing fields you submit.
  • Ownership and verification data — documents, attestations, and correspondence submitted when you register or claim a listing.
  • Account and authentication data — sign-in credentials and profile settings when account features are enabled.
  • Waiting list details — email, optional mobile number, and whether you expressed interest as a business or a person.
  • Communications — messages you send to us for support, disputes, or compliance requests.
  • Usage and technical data — IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and diagnostic logs collected through our infrastructure providers.

How we use information

We use collected information to operate, maintain, and improve the registry and related services. Specific uses include:

  • Creating, verifying, and publishing canonical business and person records.
  • Managing early-access waiting lists and inviting you when capacity opens.
  • Processing ownership claims and resolving listing disputes.
  • Distributing approved registry data to connected ecosystem applications through our API.
  • Providing customer support and responding to legal or regulatory requests.
  • Monitoring platform security, preventing abuse, and enforcing our Terms and Conditions.
  • Analyzing aggregated, de-identified usage to improve reliability and product quality.

Legal bases for processing

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process personal data to perform our contract with you, to pursue legitimate interests in operating a trustworthy registry, to comply with legal obligations, and, where required, based on your consent.

How we share information

Registry data intended for public or partner distribution may be shared with connected applications in the directory ecosystem that integrate with Ariiyo through authorized APIs. We do not sell personal information.

We may also share information with infrastructure and service providers that help us host, secure, and operate the platform (including Cloudflare), professional advisers, and authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of the registry.

Data retention

We retain registry and account information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain accurate historical records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymize it in accordance with our retention practices.

Security

We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port personal data, and to object to certain processing. You may update listing information through the owner portal where available.

To exercise privacy rights or ask questions about this policy, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

Children

Ariiyo is a business registry service and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International processing

We may process and store information using service providers located in countries other than your own. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and revise the effective date above.
